THE WORD: 1 John 2:28
And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, I come to You today, asking that You guard my mind from the lies and temptations of the enemy, and help me to remain unshakeably confident in my identity in You, as a beloved child of God.
Protect me from the enemy’s schemes to deceive me and make me doubt Your love and provision for me.
Help me to stand firm in my faith, just as Jesus did on the cross, and to resist the temptation to test You or prove myself. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Are you tired of feeling like you’re constantly battling with your identity?
The enemy is relentless in his attempts to make you doubt who you are in Christ. Just like he did with Jesus, he’ll try to tempt you to prove yourself, to test God’s love and provision.
He’ll say things like, ‘If you’re really a child of God, then you should be able to do this…’ or ‘If you’re really set free, then you should be able to handle that situation…’ But Jesus didn’t fall for it, and neither should you!
Remember how Jesus faced temptation on the cross, when the rulers, soldiers, and even one of the criminals hurled insults at Him, saying, ‘If you’re the Son of God, save yourself!’ But Jesus remained steadfast, confident in His identity as the Son of God.
You can do the same! You are a child of God, and your identity is unshakeable. Don’t let the enemy convince you otherwise.
Claim your identity in Christ.
