THE WORD: Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, teach me to use my words to honour You and bring life to others. Help me to speak words of encouragement, hope, and love, and protect me from using my words carelessly or hurtfully.
Give me the right words to say in every situation, and help me to be a blessing to those around me. May my words be a reflection of my faith and relationship with You, and may they bring glory to Your name.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I want you to remember this: our words are a reflection of our faith and our relationship with God. When we use our words to bring life and positivity, we honour Him and demonstrate our love for Him and others. But when we use our words carelessly or hurtfully, we tarnish our witness and damage our relationships with those around us.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” James 3:9-10 further states, “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth comes praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”
Let us approach our conversations and communication with prayer and intentionality. Let us ask God to give us the right words to say in every situation.
