THE WORD: 2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, search me and reveal areas where I need to say ‘no’ to people and ‘yes’ to You. Give me the courage and boldness to stand firm in my faith, just like the apostles, and empower me to obey Your authority above all else, even in the face of opposition. Grant me the wisdom to discern Your will and to trust that if my work is of God, I will not be overthrown. Your strength will carry me through. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Are you tired of saying ‘yes’ when you mean ‘no’? Do you struggle with pleasing people at the expense of your faith? It’s time to break free from the fear of man and stand firm in your beliefs, just like the apostles did in Acts 5:17-41. Remember how they stood strong in their faith, even when commanded to stop preaching in Jesus’ name? They boldly declared, ‘We must obey God rather than any human authority.’
And you can do the same. Just as the Pharisee observed, ‘If they are merely human, their plans will soon fail. But if their work is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them.’
Trust that if your work is of God, you will not be overthrown. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk with the courage and boldness to say ‘no’ to people and ‘yes’ to Jesus. Don’t let fear or timidity hold you back any longer.
