THE WORD: Matthew 7:24-25
Anyone who hears and obeys these teachings of mine is like a wise person who built a house on solid rock. The rain poured down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on solid rock.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, help me to construct my life on the solid foundation of Your Word. Empower me through Your Spirit to confront and overcome my faults and weaknesses, that I may grow in faith and obedience. Correct and shape me daily, refining the impurities in my life and conforming me to the image of Your Son. May I cultivate an unwavering trust in You, the Master Craftsman who is shaping me into the vessel You desire. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Today, please hear these words from Jesus and take them to heart. Before the storms of life hit, ensure your faith is built on the solid rock of Christ. What’s the alternative for the believer? The shifting sands of complacency. The one who hears but does not obey. The one who learns but decides that they will practice it later.
It’s in our moments of preparation that we must lay our foundation strong, not with straw but with the living stones of faith, cemented by obedience to God’s word. Don’t wait until life looks desperate. Recognise you need to obey now! Open your eyes to your own weaknesses and allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen you.
Remember, it’s not just about the work you do but the person you become. He doesn’t want you to obey, just so that you do things. Let the Lord enlarge your heart and wisdom, not just your works. Trust that in the Refiner’s fire you will be shaped and purified. Remember, He shapes us, but we must be willing to go through the process!
