THE WORD: Isaiah 40:11
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, I pray for comfort and provision for those who have lost loved ones due to the violence in Colombia. I pray that they will recognise your mercy on the displaced, and for the provision of shelter, sustenance, and opportunities for restoration. Lord, I pray for Your guidance and empowerment for those working towards peace and justice and that Your love and compassion will continue to shine brightly amidst suffering. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Colombia is currently facing significant challenges, marked by political unrest and drug-related violence that have led to widespread suffering. Many lives have been tragically lost, resulting in countless orphans and widows. The country, once vibrant and thriving, now bears the scars of conflict.
A distressing number of people have been displaced from their homes and are seeking refuge in urban areas, where they encounter limited opportunities and unstable living conditions. Former armed combatants, despite their efforts to reintegrate into society, often struggle due to a lack of necessary skills and resources.
In light of these painful realities, it is essential for us to come together in prayer. Let us pray for those mourning the loss of their loved ones, that they may find comfort in God. Let us also pray for the displaced, that they may discover safe shelter and new opportunities. Finally, let us pray for peace and justice to prevail in Colombia, trusting that God’s love can shine through even in the midst of suffering.
