THE WORD: 2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, I pray for the people of Barbados to deepen their commitment to You, overcoming the challenges of modern life, including materialism and shifting theological beliefs. I pray for a revival in the Church in Barbados and for there to be genuine fellowship and unity.
I thank You for the work of those who have dedicated their resources and time to spreading Your true message in Barbados, and I ask for You to bless their efforts in building bridges and providing platforms for collaboration.
May they know You for who You are, not just what You can do. May they call you Father, and recognise the love you have for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The beautiful island of Barbados has held onto its Christian faith since its settlement in 1627. While many identify as Christian, a deep and abiding commitment to Jesus isn’t as common as we might hope. The pressures of modern life, from materialism to shifting theological positions, have taken their toll. We see this reflected in dwindling church attendance, and sadly, in the rise of violence and crime.
Let us lift up our brothers and sisters in Barbados in prayer. May the Holy Spirit breathe new life into their communities, reawakening hearts and renewing spirits. May the Church there experience a revival, radiating God’s love and light.
There are glimmers of hope as denominations find common ground, yet some mistrust lingers, especially between established churches and the growing independent congregations. Let us pray for genuine fellowship to grow amongst all who serve the Lord, creating unity and understanding. Let us also remember the Barbados Evangelical Association and Barbados Christian Council in our prayers, asking God to bless their efforts in building bridges and providing platforms for collaboration.
