THE WORD: Psalm 27:4
One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, help me prioritise our relationship and intimacy above all else. Give me the strength to trust Your timing and methods, and guide me to the “one thing” You are asking of me. Help me stay focused on the present moment, avoid anxiety and stress, and remain faithful in serving You, even when the future is uncertain.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Are you missing today’s opportunities by being distracted and consumed with your thoughts about tomorrow’s problems? Instead, right now, ask yourself: ‘What is the one thing God is asking of me?’ Maybe you don’t know. Maybe you feel like God hasn’t said anything. Here’s some advice: Make God Himself your ‘one thing’, just like David did in Psalm 27:4, where he wrote, ‘One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.’
Remember, David was prophesying about the future, us, our current reality – that God’s temple is now inside believers. When everything else was unstable, David pursued to be a person who abides in God’s presence. Now it’s your turn. Make God your singular pursuit, and all else will fall into its proper place. Stay faithful, keep serving, and keep obeying in the simple things, and you will reap the promised harvest in its due, appointed season. God’s timing and methods may look very different than your own plans, but I promise you – His plans are far greater than anything you can imagine.
