THE WORD: John 8:32
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, help me to abide in You and Your Word and experience the truth and freedom that comes with it. I pray for an understanding of your love for me, that I may build the courage to surrender my will to Your will and seek to please You. Grant me a deeper understanding of Your truth and the fact that You are truth itself. Help me to remember that with You, I am in safe hands. May Your word dwell richly in my heart, transforming me from the inside out. Help me to see you from beyond the place of stories and knowledge, but rather may I know you intimately and personally.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
As followers of Jesus, we’re called to be more than just Christians – we’re meant to be disciples. A disciple is not just a title, but a way of living. In the times of Scripture, and even in certain parts of our world today, people would leave their whole lives to follow a Rabbi, becoming an apprentice to learn from and imitate them.
When we decide to follow Jesus, we need to ask ourselves: “Am I truly following Him, or am I just going through the motions?” We need to be willing to surrender our will and follow the will of the Master, Jesus Christ. As Jesus said in John 8:31-36, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” This freedom doesn’t come from just an academic pursuit of truth, but from abiding in His word and being His disciple.
So let’s pray together that we would be willing to surrender our wills and truly abide in Jesus’ word. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out, giving us a deeper understanding of God’s truth and a personal revelation of His love. Imagine a world where we all seek to please the Father, not out of fear of punishment, but out of a desire to obey and honour Him. We can live in a world where our joy is found in living life with Him. It’s a world where our joy is stable, not changing with days and seasons. Where we have true, lasting, peace. If you desire that, join me in prayer today!
