THE WORD: Matthew 7:7-11
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, I ask that You reveal Yourself to me as a loving Father who provides, protects, and gives good gifts. Help me to seek a deeper understanding of Your nature and character, that faith will arise within me, enabling me to experience the fullness of Your love and provision. Open my heart to receive the light of Your Word, and grant me the ability to ask according to Your will and with a heart that truly knows You as Father.
Help Me. I desire to seek Your face be open to Your leading, even when it doesn’t make sense to me at first. Help me to trust that You are a good Father who is a giver, and position myself to receive all that You have for me. Help me to overcome my doubts and fears, and to know that You are a perfect Father.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Have you ever felt like you’re not receiving from God, despite asking, seeking, and knocking? Maybe you’ve experienced situations where you asked for something, but didn’t receive what you expected. Perhaps you’ve even felt a sense of betrayal or disappointment, wondering why God’s promises don’t seem to align with your reality. I want you to know that you’re not alone in this struggle.
Many believers, including myself, have wrestled with these same questions.
But the truth is, there’s a depth to God’s promises that we often miss. Jesus isn’t just giving us a simple formula for getting what we want from God; He’s revealing something profound about the nature of our Heavenly Father and the relationship He desires to have with us.
So I urge you to take a moment to reflect on your relationship with God. Have you truly encountered Him as your loving Father, or are you operating based on an incomplete understanding of who He is?
He is a Father who provides, protects, and gives good gifts. He desires to give you good things when you ask Him, but you must ask according to His will and with a heart that truly knows Him as Father. So let’s pray together, asking for faith to arise within us, enabling us to experience the fullness of God’s love and provision.
