THE WORD: Psalm 37:3
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, help me to remain faithful to Your process in my life. As you develop a strong character in me, teach me to acknowledge Your sovereignty, and stay diligent in my walk with You. Lord, I trust that You will give me the strength and wisdom I need to navigate life’s challenges, just like You did for Joseph. Teach me to trust in You and do good, dwelling in the land and enjoying safe pastures. Thank You for Your love and guidance. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Today, I want you to reflect on life and remember that God’s goal is not just the end goal of the promise, but also the person you are becoming in the process. Following on from yesterday, let’s look at Joseph’s life. He was sold out by his family, falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and thrown into prison. But even in prison, Joseph didn’t lose faith, he continued to use his gift to serve others, including the chief cupbearer who would later forget him. Why? He was a man of character.
Joseph’s character was evident when his family came to Egypt in need, and instead of denying them, he told them “what you meant for evil, God turned it for our good.” It took two more years for God to divinely intervene and bring Joseph out of prison, but in that time, God was molding him and shaping him. When Pharaoh eventually called for him, Joseph didn’t take credit for his ability to interpret dreams, instead he said “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” He knew it was all because of God’s sovereignty in his life. God cares about the process. Not just the result.
