THE WORD: Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for your mercy and wisdom. Thank You for bringing this to my attention. Thank you for the work you are doing through the various charities and missionaries across the world. Lord, I pray for an intervention in Burkina Faso. I pray that the terror and discord sowed by extremists will be brought to an end.
I speak against the violence that has displaced millions and claimed thousands of lives. I pray for wisdom and courage for the nation’s leaders and for steadfast faith and love in the hearts of Burkinabe Christians. I call for a global Christian solidarity, trusting in the transformative power of Your love to bring hope and change to Burkina Faso.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Burkina Faso is facing a dire situation, with radical jihadist groups wreaking havoc on the nation, leaving over 2 million people displaced and at least 10,000 lives lost. The attacks have exacerbated existing ethnic tensions and political instability, culminating in two military coups in 2022 alone. We, as Christians, have the power to make a difference. It may feel too large. It may feel like there’s nothing to do.
But will you join me in praying for this nation?
It may feel far from you. Maybe it feels like it’s not your problem. But the fate of Burkina Faso has far-reaching consequences, and if left unchecked, the violence could easily engulf the entire Sahel region, putting countless more lives at risk. There are lives at stake. Let us ask God to restrain the forces of evil, grant wisdom and courage to Burkina’s leaders, and fill the hearts of our brothers and sisters with unwavering faith and fearless love.
Yes, they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Christians are called to be beacons of hope in a world that desperately needs it. We can’t turn a blind eye to what is happening because it doesn’t impact our day. Let us stand in solidarity with Burkina Faso, lifting them up in prayer and trusting in the transformative power of God’s love.
Together, we can be a force for change, bringing light to the shadows and hope to the hopeless.
