THE WORD: Hebrews 12:1
As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.
LET’S PRAY
Heavenly Father, I come before you seeking guidance on how to maintain the deliverance and freedom that you have given me. Reveal to me the habits I need to adopt or eliminate, and give me self-awareness to identify my trigger points and cravings. Help me build a consistent and authentic prayer life, and show me how to surround myself with people who will hold me accountable to my spiritual growth. Use me as a catalyst for positive change in those around me, and empower me to elevate my relationships.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It’s time to get real with yourself and with God. Ask the Lord: What habits do I need to factor into my lifestyle to maintain my deliverance and freedom? Don’t just stop there. It’s not enough to just ask, take action and write down the changes you need to make.
What are the things that you need to eliminate from your life? Is it certain shows, music, or books? Be honest with yourself and take responsibility for your actions. Identify your trigger points – when you feel pressure, what happens? What are your cravings? What conversations do you need to stop entertaining? Are there people in your life who are perpetuating the old you? It’s time to re-evaluate your relationships and surround yourself with people who will hold you accountable to your spiritual growth.
Ask yourself, what does accountability look like for you in this season? Who in your network can hold you accountable to what you said you were going to do and to the person, the version you said that God had called you to become? Who knows what is going on in your life, not after the fact, not when it happens, not when life is in flames, but who is aware before? There is power in genuine, vulnerable, spirit-filled relationships.
Will you allow God to move in you and use you as a catalyst for positive change in those around you?
