DAY 105/365 – Lessons in Love and Forgiveness

THE WORD: Luke 23:34

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

LET’S PRAY

Dear God, help me understand what it truly means to love others and forgive them, even when it’s hard. Keep my words kind, so I don’t hurt anyone with what I say. Show me how to be more like Jesus.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Brothers and sisters, have we forgotten the ultimate examples of forgiveness? Jesus, the Son of God, endured unimaginable cruelty at the hands of those He came to save. Yet, on the cross, He uttered words of grace: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34). Similarly, Stephen, the first Christian martyr, faced a hail of stones, his final breath a prayer for his persecutors: “Lord, do not hold this sin against them” (Acts 7:60). These are the models we are called to follow! Instead of succumbing to the temptation to complain, let us rise to the challenge of forgiveness. Remember, when we tear down others with our words, we are tearing down God’s children. Let us choose a different path – a path paved with prayer and overflowing with blessings.
