DAY 126/365 – Embracing Humility, Diligence, and Surrender

THE WORD: MATTHEW 16:24-25
Then Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, I humbly come before you seeking a heart of humility, diligence, and obedience. Guide me on the path of discipleship, granting me the strength to deny myself and continually surrender to your ways. May I find true life in seeking your glory above all else. Amen.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Let’s examine ourselves honestly – have we allowed the cares of this world to become idols that distract us from fully denying ourselves, taking up our crosses daily, and following Jesus? This path of authentic discipleship demands humility to receive Christ’s revelation of who we truly are in Him. It requires diligence to carefully steward every area of our lives for God’s glory, not our own. Above all, it means a posture of surrender – losing our lives and selfish ambitions so that we may truly find our lives hidden in Christ. No matter our pasts, backgrounds or present circumstances, Jesus beckons us to follow Him wholeheartedly, embracing the cross. For what could be more valuable than the nurturing of our own souls?
