DAY 127/365 – Putting Off the Old Man

THE WORD: EPHESIANS 4:20-24
But that is not the way you learned Christ!—assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
LET’S PRAY
Help me to learn Your ways and to shed the old man’s conduct. Strengthen me to repent from bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking. Instead, fill my heart with kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness. In all things, may I reflect the nature of the new man in Christ, living a life that honors and glorifies You.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
As believers, we must not forget that we have learned Christ, and His teachings should guide our conduct. Ephesians 4:20 reminds us that we have not learned Christ in such a way that we give ourselves over to lasciviousness and greed. Instead, we must put off the old sinful nature and its corrupt ways, renewing our minds daily in the spirit of Christ. This means actively rejecting bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking, and consciously embracing the kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness that characterizes the new life in Christ. Let us pray that we may continually grow in understanding and spiritual maturity, seeking to reflect Christ’s nature more fully in all our thoughts, words, and actions.
